Coors, Salazar cruise to wins
By Gwen Florio, Rocky Mountain News
August 10, 2004

Democratic Attorney General Ken Salazar, always the presumed favorite in his primary race for the U.S. Senate, and Republican political novice Pete Coors — who was not — coasted to easy victories today.

Not half an hour after the polls closed, a tornado warning flashed across a television screen in a Coors Field suite where Coors and his supporters were watching the lopsided returns from a race that was supposed to have been too close to call.

2. Agreed.
At least Schaffer has some principles (as disagreeable to us as they may seem), but Coors stands for nothing but big money.

He'll be easy to attack.

3. Maybe Coors Will Get out the 18-21 Vote
They may vote for draft beer,
but they won't be in favor of a draft,
and most of them know that's what a Bush* reelection means.

Over 300,000 repukes voted and barely over 200,000 dems. Lotsa independents to fight over and lotsa Latino vote to energize. Doubt Salazar can attract Schaffer voters. Dunno - think it's an uphill battle ...
