U.S. Soldier Marries Woman He Met in Iraq
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - A Washington state soldier has married the Iraqi woman he met and fell in love with while in Baghdad.

Robert Hall, 23, says he knew within a month that he would marry Vivian Mansour, 21, of Baghdad, even though at first neither spoke a word of each other's language.

Hall, an Army reservist who earned a Bronze Star for meritorious service during his one-year tour, said he's never been happier. The two were married here Saturday.

"I never in my life saw this coming," he said.

For them, cultural differences are offset by a shared Christian faith. Mansour is a Kurdish Christian — a population that makes up just 3 percent of Iraq (news - web sites)'s 24 million people.

"It's such a learning experience," Hall said. "Our cultures are different, but the way we look at it is, we're both children of God."

3. My God!
Why don't they fly him in for the convention right now. Although, I noticed in a sentence from your link, even he knew "the mission's not over yet."

7. interesting snippets from your link
He's just two semesters shy of a college degree at Liberty University in Virginia, where he's majoring in religion.

Even his reason for joining the Army Reserves is out of the ordinary. Hall has political aspirations and says he wants to be an informed representative of veterans and military families.

9. I don't understand why people God personally spared THEM..
.. yet killed other in Iraq. That sounds cold.. but I just don't understand that thinking. I wonder what this man would have thought if his object of affection was a muslim, not a christian.

2. Don't be surprised to see their wedding pics
In Shrub's next ad. I can just picture it. Not only are we liberating Iraq, but also uniting Americans and Iraqis.

4. Nothing to see here or get excited about-
men have met and married women during just about every war. They're called "war brides." Thousands came to the US from both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, etc.

The story I'd like to see in the news is how many soldiers have accepted Islam. Hundreds did during the first Gulf War!

But you won't see that published in Bush's Amerikka.

are stationed Or where there are people from different Nations..mingling.

Notice that she is Kurdish. I know bush is lookin' to politicize anything he can..so I'm sure they will play this up to some group..guess who?
