Truck wrecks kill 3 Iowa soldiers in 2 days
The Des Moines Register

Three Iowa soldiers have been killed in the past two days in military truck rollover crashes, officials said Friday.

Two soldiers died Friday morning in Johnston when their Iowa Army National Guard tractor-trailer went off the road and rolled in a ditch after departing from the Camp Dodge military base, according to the Johnston Police Department. ..

According to U.S. Army records, 116 soldiers have died while on duty since Oct. 1, 2003, in aviation and ground accidents. That compares with 120 deaths for the same period one year ago and 60 deaths two years ago. ..

1. These soldiers were in a combat zone.
Perhaps the insurgents or freedom fighters screwed with the vehicles? No different than laying down a road side bomb is it?

3. This is a shout out to my home state of Iowa...
...I spent the first 23 years of my life in Iowa, most of it dreaming of leaving. That's what you do when you are from Iowa. But it is a tried and true solid place. The people are good people. Voted for Dukasis, Clinton twice and Gore. I miss Iowa!

Bless the boys from Iowa!

7. This sounds so weird.
Don't our guys know how to drive? Something about this is just not right. How many truck rollovers or trucks driven off into ditches, etc. have occurred? Is there something else going on and they are covering it up?

It just sounds so odd...

9. Are these troops Guard Units or Reserves?????
These Units were sent into combat situation with broken down equipment from the Vietnam conflict. How can it be determined if it is the driver or the vehicle???? How many of our military died because of broken down equipment or even lack of equipment?????????

10. Not only that, but Cuban_Liberl's nephew
was said to have died that way:

"As soon as I saw they were soldiers, I knew..."
