Grassley wants Bush to outline exit strategy
By Charlotte Eby Journal Des Moines Bureau

NEW YORK -- When President George W. Bush delivers the most anticipated speech of the Republican National Convention tonight, U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley said he will have to articulate a strong plan for "winding down" in Iraq and convince American voters the economy is on the rebound.

Grassley, Iowa's senior senator, called those issues "soft spots" the Bush-Cheney campaign will have to overcome in the two months before Election Day.

"I think if he wants to separate himself from (Democratic nominee John) Kerry, he needs to be more definitive" about the next four years, Grassley said.

On the economy, Grassley said Bush needs to demonstrate to the American people that all indicators show the nation's economy is moving in a positive direction. ..

1. When pigs fly
"he needs to be more definitive" like "he has weapons and he will use them". "We will smoke him out", "I don't know Mr. Lay".

6. psst! Hey chuck... clue bus pulling in for you...
In case you have not heard, which seems to be the case here, The neo-cons are building 14 PERMANENT US Military bases in Iraq. Not to mention the world's LARGEST Embassy staffed with negroponte and 3000 other Americans. Now does it sound like they have ANY intention of the US leaving Iraq say any time in the next 50 years?!? :eyes:

12. Grassley was the one that got p*ssed at Randi on AAR
when she questioned him on air yesterday. He got mad and threw his earphones on the table and walked off because she was getting to him about the truth and he couldn't take it.
