Kerry Hits Bush on Iraq War, Economy
By MARY DALRYMPLE, Associated Press Writer

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Fighting back, Democratic Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) called President Bush (news - web sites) "unfit to lead this nation" because of the war in Iraq (news - web sites) and his record on jobs, health care and energy prices. He lashed out Thursday at Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) for avoiding service in the Vietnam War.

"I will not have my commitment to defend this country questioned by those who refused to serve when they could have and who misled America into Iraq," he said to a crowd of hundreds at a midnight rally.

1. Yahoo has reported this unfit story under bunches of headers.
Maybe they are working on the humor of irony.

Straight talk at last. And reported (a little) in the press even.

You have given the news article Kerry Hits Back at GOP 'Insults' a rating of 5.
Its current average rating is 2.89 with 943 vote(s).

Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 07:38 AM by democracy eh
the press couldn't really ignore Kerry this time, it was one of those key moments. so a perfect time for a this speech

accomplishes several things
- addresses all the false charges and insults from the convention
- gives Kerry the last word
- re-assures and re-energizes the Dem base who might be a bit down after the GOP hate fest
- he came across as strong, a fighter and decisive
- plus a late night respose gets Kerry airtime in the AM reports on Junior's pathetic America Amnesia (just forgetabout the last 3 years please)speech. it brings up all the "Accomplishments" Bush forgot to mention. Bush won't have the moment to himself.

6. This was an excellent speech, HOWEVER, Kerry still needs to
continue on with how Bush MISLEADS by MENTIONING missing WMD's, OUTING a CIA operative for punishment (doesn't matter if it's bush or not, it's still under his watch), not firing anyone for providing horrible incompetent information that lead us to war, and mostly, this is very embarrassing for BUSH...where's Osma Bin Laden?

Other than that, he's speech was excellent at Springfield OHIO! Kerry just needs to channel all our anger and keep the flames burning to win! Kerry will make a GREAT US President!

I also think Kerry might as well call the duck a duck, just come out and say, "I'm smarter than George W. Bush, I'm more patriotic, I'm more informed on foreign affairs, I'm just in general a better man, more of a man, and I'll go toe to toe with him any day, record to record!"
