Bush Takes Credit for Increases in Jobs
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Reuters)

Under pressure to show improvement in the U.S. economy, President Bush on Friday welcomed the news that 144,000 jobs were created in August as evidence his policies were working at the start of his post-convention drive to the Nov. 2 election.

"This economy is strong; the farm economy is strong, and we intend to keep it that way," Bush told an early evening outdoors rally in this farming state. ..

1. Coming Nov 3 there will be a lot of open jobs in Washington and
we will give Bush credit for those as he and mobsters leave. We will have a lot of attorneys who will be employed in prosecuting these criminals.

2. Guess he never noticed it happens this time of most years
when kids go back to school and quit their summer jobs. This time of year, a lot of the same jobs just go to different people. Some kid trades his summer job for fall unemployment & school. Somebody gets hired to fill the slot. A new hire is not the same as a new job.

3. taking credit for this month's....
job report is like taking credit for being the captain of the titanic....seriously, it is fact that we need at least 150,000 created each month keep up with population growth....if Clinton ever had a month like this it would be considered a total failure by Clinton and his team....unemployment rate goes down because people have given up looking for work (I know a person or 2 like this) and Bush has the nerve to brag about August numbers....what an asshole!

6. That's right. Wall Street didn't buy it.
And the figure is heavily pumped with government jobs that will vanish. If you look a all the guardsmen and reserves that are losing their jobs and don't show in the unemployed figures, you get a very ugly picture. Wall Street isn't stupid this time.
