UN aims for global reproductive health services by 2015
LONDON : Providing reproductive health services on a global scale is a goal UN members are aiming to achieve by 2015.

This was the aim at a major UN conference 10 years ago, set out in the so-called Cairo Consensus and attended by some 11,000 delegates from 179 countries.

Now 10 years on, healthcare professionals, Non-Government Organisation's and United Nations officials have met in London for an update.

Many health professionals saw the 1994 Cairo consensus as a landmark, setting out the provision of reproductive health services as a human right.
