Rudy Pumped to Stump (for Schwarzenegger)
Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani is getting ready to throw his muscle behind muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger in the California governor's race now that longtime pal Bill Simon is out, sources told The Post yesterday.

"Rudy will support him, and if it helps him , I think we'll do it," said a source close to Giuliani, who's on a quick trip to Australia and will be back Friday.

Giuliani is expected to consult with Simon then and try to convince him to also enlist in Arnie's army.

The Republican Terminator called Giuliani to talk to him soon after he announced his candidacy, "and Rudy told him, 'I think you're a good candidate, and I think you'd be a good governor,' but said he couldn't support him while Bill Simon was in the race," the source added.

2. Are there any polls on Giuliani in California?
I can't see Giuliani's support making much of a difference either way.

There are two individuals who might be able to make a difference, Bill Clinton and Bush. If either of them go to California, then it may have some influence. Both sides will be sending plenty of support, but a lot of those people will just offset each other.

The Democrats need to send Bill Clinton to help bring out the vote and get Democrats excited.

3. Rudy and his travels
Saw an article in Chritchurch Press newspaper (New Zealand). Some group wanted him to come and give a speach in New Zealand while he was nearby in Australia. He couldn't make it because the Kiwis' wouldn't pay the 45,000 dollars to fly him over and back from Australia in a private jet. Gee---those Repukes sure are the salt of the earth type of people like you and I.

Rudy's still living off his response to 9/11, fair or
unfair.

7. I thought Rudy was smarter
Rudy has profited (in several ways) from his 9/11 popularity. There is a grave danger of losing some of his political capitol as soon as he takes a position in favor of any candidate. In a sense, stumping for AS will cost him whether AS wins or not. If he campaigns for AS, he will become just another partisan hack and no longer "America's Mayor".

Anybody agree?

8. Great!
Make this thing as partisan as possible. Rudy did commercials for Simon last year--we can bring that up too. I want a spot from Simon, that'd be great...

Boy, Rudy dumped Simon faster than he dumped Donna Hanover. Oops! Forgot...not supposed to make fun of Capt. 9/11.

Seriously, I give Rudy his props for being a real leader on Sept. 11, not running like a cockroach from the light like *. But I can tell you....his endorsement of Simon in last year's governor's race meant jack shit, as will his endorsement of Ah-nuld this year.

10. Rudy Giuliani Also "Stumped" California for Bill Simon....Who Lost.
His 9/11 "Magic Touch" already has been discredited in the Golden State.
