If we must have a Repub Senator here in R.I., I'm glad it's him.
He went off and became a blacksmith after college during his 20's.
He's really a character and has never bought into BushCo.
A rumor is circulating that Patrick Kennedy might challenge him for his Senate seat in '06. I think that would be a huge mistake.

One of the few HONEST folks in D.C.
Remember, he voted against IWR.
He said he went to the CIA for an intelligence briefing, & it did not show that Iraq was a threat to the U.S.
Imagine if all the Dems who voted AYE, had done the same thing. And if a few more Repugs had done the same thing.

10. Well, this counterbalances Zell's vote, |
|
doesn't it? Too bad we didn't know sooner, like in time for Chaffee to make a speech at the Democratic Convention.

11. lol, he might write in Poppy |
|
this might be a good campaign, a "draft Poppy" movement... http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=6285233
His spokesman Stephen Hourahan said afterward that if Chafee does write in a name it would be that of Bush's father, former President Bush.

14. If the Senate is 49-50-1 on January 3... |
|
He needs to switch over so lame duck Dickless Cheney doesn't get to have a say in the Senate control.

... an increasing problem. In NC, the wingnut Republicans have been sharpening their claws to attack the moderates.
