Video Shows U.K. Hostage's Plea for Life |
|
"To Mr. Blair, my name is Ken Bigley, from Liverpool," the blindfolded man said in the videotape. "I think this is possibly my last chance," the speaker said in the grainy video. "I don't want to die. I don't deserve..." "Please free female prisoners held in Iraqi prisons." http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&e=1&u=/ap/20040922/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_british_hostageThis is all so pointless...and so horrible. Hell awaits you, shrub.

2. But we're safer now, right? |
|
We're smokin 'em out. Bringin 'em to justice. Right, Scrub?
Except for the ones who are shooting, blowing up and decapitating people in Iraq.
Except for the ones volunteering in droves to head to the front lines for the chance to kill a few more Americans.
Except for the ones who are inspired to fight back now because of our arrogance, ignorance and greed. They will keep coming; wave after wave until they have their justice. We would do no less if America were invaded by an unwanted presence.
Hell may not have a place large enough to house such ignorance, ego and self-righteousness, but I hope Satan himself will undertake special effort to make the accommodations.

3. I don't understand the logic of "we should not negotiate with terrorists |
|
because it will "incentivize them to do it again" " (Powell).
In my view, this is absolute nonsense. You can't motivate Zarqawi any more than he already is. He will continue to make bombs and take hostages anyway, regardless of any negotiations taking place.
They don't take into account the apocalyptic nature of "neo-fundamentalism" (Olivier Roy). You can't negotiate with them to end terrorism (like you can negotiate in Northern Ireland), but in a paradoxical way for that very reason you can negotiate with them to release hostages, because negotiations won't make the enemy any more dangerous. He already is.

4. About this strategy... |
|
3 hostages; 2 American and 1 Brit...
I may be wrong, but doesn't the entire world see Tony Blair as *'s lapdog, including Britons?
Execute the 2 Americans in a hideous way a few days apart, then threaten the British hostage with the same fate. See if Blair blinks...
If he does, this drives a wedge further between Bush and Blair...
If he doesn't, Blair's reputation as Bush's "cabana boy" is even more obvious, especially with the British people...

5. Unless as I mentioned today in another thread, Bigley is freed... |
|
...so Blair saves face in England, and the proposed British troop reduction "goes away", saving shrub's bacon. That would arouse my suspicions greatly.

7. Thanks for the link... |
|
I thought it odd that the article never mentioned "Bush." I would imagine if a major player in Bush's "coalition" is planning to pull a third of its troops out of Iraq, that would have warranted a "reaction" from the Bushistas...

That this is happening is because we are torturing, raping and killing prisoners in our jails.... It seems that we are the main source of these hostages' deaths.
