US Republican Party outsources fund raising to India |
|
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=11219THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is using call centres in Gurgaon and Noida in India to raise funds for itself and for its chieftain, George W. Bush. Young people at the call centres are helping robots to phone American citizens to enlist their support and money for the political party, with plans to extend the scheme if they whip up enough donations. Older staunch Bush supporters getting calls from India from people who can barely speak English and with a heavy accent?
"Gol-durn Martha. I knew Bush was a little funny but I never knowed he'd put a phone bank in Gitmo to get those rag-heads to ask for money after all I've done for hisself. I think Amurika a goin' to hell real quick...."

10. Hmmmmm....take your point but dodgy stereotyping. |

We're losing jobs from the UK to India too.
Thing is, in the UK you have to pay 8,000 pounds minimum to employ someone with a basic, poor educational record and with minimal people / language skills.
In India you can employ graduates who are fluent in English for a fraction of that cost. In India, a call centre job is seen as a worthy achievement, in the UK it's the bottom of the pile if you can't find anything else.
Not that I'm defending it, but the standards can actually improve.....allegedly.
