Amid Tensions, Saudi Envoy Meets Bush Father, Cheney
WASHINGTON (Reuters)

Amid serious strains in U.S.-Saudi relations, the Saudi ambassador to Washington met former President George Bush on Wednesday and will meet Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday, U.S. officials said.

The meetings coincide with efforts by Saudi Arabia, long a close U.S. ally and major oil supplier, to halt a slide in relations amid American concerns about links between some Saudis and attacks on the United States.

Prince Bandar bin Sultan had lunch with Bush -- father and close confidant of the current president -- in Kennebunkport, Maine, where the family has long had a vacation home. ---

Cheney's spokeswoman Jennifer Millerwise said Bandar would meet the vice president on Thursday in Wyoming. She gave no further details. ---

Junior's stuck in the Big Muddy, and the election is around the corner. Our bonds aren't selling, and gold, gas, and casualties are going up.

I bet they'd love to call a time out.

I bet they put Baker in any day now.

23. They tried to put Baker in a couple of weeks back. . .
insert him as another layer of management for Iraq, but not being completely stupid (like Bremer), Baker begged out.

3. They probably got together
to figure out how to funnel more money to bin Laden and al Qaeda. It's getting tough keeping these guys fed and armed, you know with all the crack downs and the bad economy and all. But with gas jumping up to $3.00 a gallon, I'm sure all their money problems will be solved.

8. My tin foil hat told me...
..how the meeting went.

Daddy Bush: "Now, Prince Sultan, I know my son said some, harsh things."

Prince Bandar bin Sultan: "Harsh does not even begin to describe it! He has stepped over the line with his accusations!"

Daddy Bush: "Now, just calm down a minute Prince Sultan. Read my lips.."

Prince Bandar bin Sultan: "That is so cliche."

Daddy Bush: "..my son didn't mean any, harm, he was just, confused."

Prince Bandar bin Sultan: "When is he not confused?!"

Daddy Bush: *nervous laugh* "Well, ya got me there. I just don't want anything, bad, to come of all this, if you get my drift."

Prince Bandar bin Sultan: "Is that a threat?!"

Daddy Bush: "Now, no, not a threat, I'm just saying..."

Prince Bandar bin Sultan: "I do not take kindly to threats!" *pulls out cell phone* "Mushid. Stop all oil exportation to America." *click* "How do you like that for a threat, Mr. Bush?"

Daddy Bush: "How about I let you punch my son in the nose and we forget the whole thing?"

Prince Bandar bin Sultan: "Deal." *cell phone* "Mushid, forget my last call!"

Daddy Bush: *cell phone* "Barbara, honey, we're going to need some make up for Jr. No he's not gay, I'll explain when I get home."

When old man Bush stayed in Saudi Arabia, he always stayed in the bin Laden family home.

Who doesn't think they had the video cameras running while the old man partook pleasures?

Seems he gets pushed back doesn't he?

http://washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A16570-2001Mar16.html
But Krongard exhibited the requisite secretiveness when asked
to explain his interest in intelligence and how he came to land
a job in Tenet's inner circle. If you go back to the CIA's origins
during World War II in the Office of Strategic Services, he
explained, "the whole OSS was really nothing but Wall Street
bankers and lawyers."

Krongard described his role as that of a chief operating officer
and vowed to keep everyone focused. "If you ask me, 'What is your
one biggest priority?' it would be to do everything I can to
support our two basic missions here, operations and
intelligence," he said.

"If you don't worry about who gets the credit, you can
accomplish an awful lot."
