CBS Document Controversy
(AP) CBS News has shelved a "60 Minutes" report on the rationale for war in Iraq because it would be "inappropriate" to air it so close to the presidential election, the network said on Saturday.
The report on weapons of mass destruction was set to air on Sept. 8 but was put off in favor of a story on President Bush's National Guard service. The Guard story was discredited because it relied on documents impugning Bush's service that were apparently fake.
CBS News spokeswoman Kelli Edwards would not elaborate on why the timing of the Iraq report was considered inappropriate.Inappropriate??

1. CBS is giving Dems no reason to support it. The Repukes never did. |

2. Media cowed by pijama crowd |
|
This just goes to show how easily the MSM is cowed by the right and their nasty little cabal of pajamabloggers. Bottom line -- Rove beat CBS on this one. Word is all over D.C. that a Republican op gave Burkett the memo -- pure set up, but no one will report it because they fear being "Rathered."
Take this from someone who just left a major network affiliate. The media is cowed, and won't fight the Powers That Be. CBS is now out of commission for the purposes of opposing the Bush regime.
Count them out (though Rather has hella class).

3. Pathetic. Inappropriate? The US public should be uninformed and |
|
shielded from the truth when they vote in November.
That goes along with the B/C campaign theme - Keep America Mislead, Ignorant and Afraid.

So, it's not appropriate to educate the American people about how they were lied into the greatest foreign policy blunder in our history.
I guess because they might wake up and turn this ship around before it's too late.
