MSNBC ditches Luntz
MSNBC ditches Luntz; tells MMFA, "A press release indicating that Frank Luntz would be on our air went out in error."

"I'm writing in response to your letter to Rick Kaplan. We will not be using any focus groups during our debate coverage. We think the audience is fully capable of coming to their own opinions without "scientific" help."

3. Wow! It's about time.
The very idea they should have allowed him on to do his Luntz magic at all is unforgiveable.

Hope he cannot bite and scratch his way back onto our screens.

9. NOW if they would use the same reasoning with Tweety and his
guest whores---let the audience make up their own minds. I could write you the script to the Tweety and the Whores Hour after the debates. Shut the fuck up--all of you. MSNBC at least seems to be catching on that they are getting Dems while CNN whores are fighting in the rat infested sewer for what entrails might be left over from the Fox whore fest. CNN dead would be a good thing...Wolfe pemanently unplugged and stuffed.

10. I actually liked Luntz' focus groups....
I didn't think he was so biased in that job. I used to hate him when he was on TV talking about Dems vs. GOP as a partisan Republican. But I had no problem with how he did his job for MSNBC. And this is coming from someone who hates Scarborough and the rest of the biased, conservative news media.

23. Yes, I know who Frank Luntz is all too well.....
He has infuriated me many times. I just didn't have a problem with his MSNBC stuff. I enjoyed listening to what the people had to say. And I heard plenty of Dems getting their voices out. In 2000, after the first debate, I heard more positives about Gore watching his segment then I did the following day when the media decided that Gore had lost afterall.

I don't know, maybe I didn't see all of his stuff. I've just never gotten upset with him in that capacity. I suppose it's possible that I missed some of his finest moments.

Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 10:27 PM by The_Casual_Observer
like "strong" and "forceful" for anything related to *. Otherwise, when it had anything to do with the Dems the words were invariably "negative" or "weak". The whole enterprise was a transparent fraud without merit.

The room of "undecideds" who were in love with Zell Miller's psychotic eruption probably didn't help his credibility.

About goddamn time someone at MSNBC got their head out of their asses and canned this shit-head. Should have done it years ago.

Ralph and Frank, like David Drier, are self-loathing homosexuals who are both precariously close to being outed.

24. Scientific?!?!?!?
Luntz is about as scientific as my cats! He is not a social scientist. He is a SHILL! That's it. No other description is apt.

MSNBC should have had the guts to say they would not have a partisan on to review the debate. It's not a matter of the audience being capable of coming to their own opinions without help. It should be a matter of MSNBC not providing a shill like Luntz from fostering an opinion instead of the audience being allowed to make up their own mind.

Luntz deserves NO air time. Never deserved any. Never will. He gives statistics a black-eye.
The Professor

29. MSNBC has another shill named Joe Scarborough also. I think.
They should get rid of his lying fascist ass too. While they are at it. If he was a Democrat he would have been investigated for murdering his aide Lori Klaustis. (I may have spelled her name wrong.)

28. His talking points on Iraq and terrorism were disgusting.
I've often heard Republican politicians recite the following mantra: "September 11th changed everything. It's better to fight the terrorists in Baghdad than in New York and Washington." That's complete drivel and a dangerous attitude to boot, given that what's happening in Baghdad doesn't preclude attacks in the U.S.

It turns out Luntz came up with that and passed it on to the GOP. They have obediently recited it. I don't know which is worse -- trying to create a false sense of security in this country or using tragedy for political gain. At any rate, number it among their many, many sins.

33. That might be it for me. I just might have to switch on MSNBC now.
Right-wing talk shows notwithstanding, it seems that MSNBC is attempting to clean up their act. Olbermann is a breath of fresh air, and now they're cutting Luntz loose?

Good signs, all around.
