U.S. Denies Cubans Visas for Conference |
|
HAVANA -- Cuban scholars charged Wednesday that the U.S. government denied visas to more than 60 Cubans seeking to attend conference on Latin America in the United States. Milagro Martinez, a political scientist who was to attend the Latin American Studies Association congress in Las Vegas next month, said the American mission in Havana announced this week that she and more than 60 other Cuban academics were denied U.S. visas. http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/world/wire/sns-ap-cuba-us-conference,0,6027533.story?coll=sns-ap-world-headlines

2. A Democratic President would NEVER do this. |

I believe Bush will invade Cuba if he is elected. He has been threatening the island from the very first. His father was connected to the Bay of Pigs, his father, and brother are deeply connected, have been for years, with prominent Cuban "exile" terrorists who worked with the C.I.A. and participated in the Bay of Pigs.
He is trying to continue the Cold War, and undoubtedly intends to destroy the Cuban Revolution, and return the Cuban "exiles" to power in Cuba, which would be a horror for the people of that country.
Bush has had his State Department poking around in ALL matters relating to Cuba from his early days in the White House. What he has done is appalling.
The majority of Americans support dropping the embargo and the travel ban. The House and Senate vote to remove the travel ban yearly, usually twice. bush has their measures stricken in committee to avoid having to take a public position in vetoeing their bills.
Yearly the U.N.'s General Assembly votes to condemn the embargo, with only two countries at most supporting the U.S. embargo. That vote is due again in November.
