Mississippi covets neighbor's monument
MONTGOMERY, Alabama (CNN) -- Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove volunteered Thursday to join neighboring Alabama in the fight over the Ten Commandments monument by offering to display it in his state's capitol building for a week starting September 7.

The 2.6-ton granite edifice was moved from the rotunda of the Alabama state judicial building to a back room out of public view Wednesday on order of a federal court that ruled it violated the U.S. Constitution's restriction on government establishment of religion.

1. Christ! Save me from your followers!
That was not meant to be offensive, by the way. It's just something I once saw written on a bathroom wall.

2. There was a Non-Sequitor a few weeks back...
It was a new guy adn St. Peter standing jsut outside teh gates and a sign which read "Welcome to Heaven...please keep your religion to yourself." Peter is saying "Ironically that's what makes it so peaceful up here."

3. My governor is a pandering asshole....Okay, I admit it...
but this is the 5th separate time this exact same thread has been started in the last 24 hours. What is gained by continuing to kick Mississippi, everyone's favorite whipping boy? Our governor is an asshole. In two weeks there will be an election. Either Musgrove, the pandering, fundamentalist Democrat will win, or a much worse asshole (Haley Barbour-republican extortionist extrordinaire) will win. My fellow Mississippians are stupid enough to allow tthis idiocy to become an issue. Should Musgrove just lie down and allow the Pukes to roll him? Any stand he takes that DU would agree with would leave him politically dead in this state.

What's your preference as a member of "Democratic" Underground-a lousy Democrat or a much worse Rethug? This is the choice I face daily.
