Bush Chides Kerry in Pa. After VP Debate

<snip>
Bush addressed hundreds of applauding supporters on his 38th trip to the swing state of Pennsylvania as he worked to overcome last week's shaky debate performance and new controversy over the White House's handling of the war in Iraq.

The president said, "My opponent's endless back-and-forth on Iraq is part of a larger misunderstanding. In the war on terror, Senator Kerry is proposing policies and doctrines that would weaken America and make the world more dangerous."

Regarding the battle against terrorists, Bush said, "Senator Kerry approaches the war with a September the 10th mindset ... that any attack will be met with a swift and certain response. That was the mindset of the 1990s, while al-Qaida was planning the attacks on America. After September the 11th our object in the war on terror is not to wait for the next attack and respond but to prevent attacks by taking the fight to the enemy."

On the economy, Bush said, "My opponent is a tax-and-spend liberal; I'm a compassionate conservative."

6. I always chuckle at the "tax-and-spend liberal" epithet coming from the
spend-and-spend conservatives.

8. The borrow and spend conservatives
But we all know that Reagan proved that deficits don't matter. Well not to those who benefit from the spending today, but what about their kids who will have to pay it back and what about the social programs that will be cut because the repubs have bankrupted the Treasury?

3. I had the misfortune
of being in a meeting in our corporate cafeteria during this speech, which was broadcast live by CNN on all the huge-ass monitors in our cafeteria.
I was very distracted and disgusted trying to talk business while Presidentay Busho was spitting lie after lie and the Wilkes-Barre crowd ate it up.
I'm going to ding CNN for giving * free air time.

7. * is just as his Harvard professor said – a bully
who wouldn't confront his victims in the classroom, but would conduct a whispering campaign outside of class. He's a coward. He's really brave attacking someone in front of his canned audiences. Quite different from the guy we saw last Thursday night.

10. Was this the "Significant Speech"???
Yesterday's Washington Times reported that Bush had scrapped his planned medical liability talk for a "Significant Speech" to regain the high ground after his debate performance. Was this all he came up with?

Nothing significant, no high ground.

17. speech was at Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre
The Kirby center seats a little over 1,000 people. Those attending today were there by INVITATION ONLY -- so it's another audience of shills scripted to clap, cheer and huzzah on cue

local channel had it on, I caught bits and pieces on the tv at work

he smirked, slouched and read his way through the speech -- audience reactions were right on cue

14. I wish Kerry would shove that Sept. 10 mindset line up Boo$h's ass.
Ignoring threats, memos, meetings about Al Qaeda was Bu$h's mindset, and I use that word liberally. }(

When he's not surrounded by hand-picked admirers and not working with a script. Hmmm....think he'll demand a "do-over" after that one, as well?

20. Silverspoon frat boy is...
neither compassionate or conservative. He is merely an opportunist that was handed every opportunity that most people on the planet would never recieve and he botched everything that he was handed. Instead of being in the position of Pres he should be on trial for War Crimes, along with the rest of his Neo Fascist Cabal.

AS a result of Kerry's performance in the debates, Edwards holding up well in the debates. Bremers revelations, the WMD report, and the leak about the upcoming CIA report indicating no Iraq connections to Al Qaeda.

Things are not going well for the Bush administrations defense of going to war in Iraq.

And a good number of polls are shoowing major reversals for Bush, The ladest ARG poll in Penssylvania from Oct 3-5 indicated Krry has a seven point lead in that state. Kerry has a lead in recent Ohio and Florida Polls. ANd this is before any effects can be seem from Edwards debate performance.

Something about September jobless figures is coming out soon and is supposed to not look good as well.

29. Kerry/ Edwards Landslide Developing
I believe the true polls show Kerry with 3-5 point leads and I think after friday's debates and a low number from the new jobs report due friday morning come monday Kerry/Edwards should be ahead by 7-10 Points
