Nev. Move to Purge Some Dem Voters Fails
LAS VEGAS - Elections officials have rebuffed an attempt by a former GOP operative to purge about 17,000 Democrats from the voter rolls in the battleground state of Nevada, where the two presidential candidates are in a dead heat.

Dan Burdish, former head of the state Republican Party, filed a challenge last week claiming the Democrats should be removed from the rolls because they were inactive voters.

But Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax rejected the move Tuesday, saying Burdish could only challenge voters in his precinct, and then only if he has personal knowledge that they are inactive.

"I don't think pulling names off a database equates to personal knowledge," Lomax said.

1. More republican attempts at fraud. They just never stop.
I am seriously beginning to think that republicans are genetically corrupt.

5. Why doesn't the Dem. Party make a commercial with all
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 02:05 PM by dArKeRuSa
these "immoral" acts by Repukes? From FL in 2000 to 2004 to NV. Including a list of all the Repukes in the aWol Adm. who have been convicted and/or forced to resign. From Renquist's daughter to Pitt to aWol himself for Harken? To the claims by FOX without proof of any kind that labor unions are responsible for the repuke office break-ins. Are Dems. stupid?

6. WTF is the rule on "inactive voters?"
How about 60% of eligible American voters are "inactive?"

7. They know they're going to lose. There's no other reason for all of this
They're getting blatant very early. That can only mean that they are already desperate.

Ah, good news! :toast: Constant vigilance!

8. "Constant vigilance" is right!
Watching these thugs constantly is tiresome work. I wish we didn't have to; I wish the political process was based on an open discussion of the issues, not whether or not you can successfully resort to subterfuge to achieve your goals.

It would be a lot easier to keep an eye on these thugs if they were all behind bars...

11. It sure would be easier that way
But the only way to make that happen is to win, first. So,.... Constant vigilance! Who said that, anyway? Mad-Eye Moody from 'Harry Potter'? They thought he was paranoid, too, always seeing people waiting to attack him. Repubs, no doubt about it!

We'll be exhausted post-election, but it will be worth it!

9. There must be some tie in to all these attempts to disenfranchise Dems
I wish we could find the source of this.

12. The RNC was the PRIMARY contributor to the group that tore up Dem voter
registration forms.
