posted the following comment:

Please permit me to take issue with your wording of the internet poll question: "Whom do you blame for the mistake in the president's State of the Union address on Iraq?"
In fact, there is growing reason to believe that the "mistake" to which you refer was a deliberate lie. Condi Rice's disingenuous attempt to defend the statement as being factually true because the British had made the Niger claim is a transparent bit of sophistry. In fact, the only reason the British made any such claim is because we told them to. Also, the British clung to the Niger absurdity for at leat 10 months after our CIA told them it was based on a forged document.
