Financial Times backs Kerry, bashes 'radical' Bush

You know what to do. Rate it!

LONDON (AFP) - The respected Financial Times endorsed John Kerry (news - web sites) as the best choice for US president, saying incumbent George W. Bush had polarized the world with his radical foreign policy and led a reckless economic policy.

The paper, one of the world's leading financial dailies, called Bush "a polarizer, exploiting the war on terror to cow domestic opposition and divide the world into Them and Us."

6. I was really feeling down about the election until today!
I just didn't even want to join message boards or read posts of newspapers. But then I read the WP. I saw Clinton in Phylly. I listened to the reports about the missing explosives in Iraq. I sas the differences in the crowds attending the Kerry stumps and the controlled crowds at the Bush stumps. I watched how people are really taking interest in the polls and the potential for disenfranchizing actions against voters. Then I heard about Rhenquist and his operation and I knew it was time to get pumped up. If the news from SCOTUS isn't enough to get the women voters to the polls I don't know what it will take. The litany of Bush lies and wrong-headed policies, the scuttling of the nuclear non-proliferation agreements...what does it take? I'm pumped and ready to go. Going to volunteer to drive folks to polls. I am more hopeful than I have ever been. We are going to take our country back and help the Iraqi people take their country back and help the world make a change for the better. LET'S GO!!!

I get a little suspicious myself, and sometimes it's unwarranted. We are definitely all in this together. You are a good person. Take care!

26. Great FT quote on * from May
"He (Bush) is not up to the job. This is not a moral judgment, but a
practical one. The world is too complex and dangerous for the pious
simplicities and arrogant unilateralism of George W. Bush"

30. With apologies to Paul O'Neill...
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 08:29 PM by Samantha
(loved his book, "The Price of Loyalty"), this is the periodical to which Paul O'Neill said when interviewed shortly after Bush* started occupying the Oval House, "social security should be abolished." This would be a timely moment to pull that interview back out and highlight that quote, BEFORE THE SENIORS IN FLORIDA VOTE NOVEMBER 2. He was Bush*s secretary of the treasury when he made this remark.

31. Very accurate perception
I've always said that Smirk was a radical. He's as radical as you can get. He is NOT conservative by any stretch of the imagination. NONE of his policies are 'conservative'....government regulation of reproductive rights, invasion of countries on a pretext to change their form of goveernment, record deficits, 'deficits don't matter', merging church and state. NONE of this is conservative. I love to make this case to Bushies. They simply don't know what to say.
