Germans trust in a victory for John Kerry.
A week to go in the US election race, and the majority of Germans believe that the Democratic candidate John F. Kerry will win. 59 % said so in a FORSA poll conducted by the stern magazine. 31% feel that incumbent George W. Bush might win the election. 10% were undecided.

There is great concern about the proper progress of the election. Only 40% of the Germans believe that the election on Nov 2 will be conducted according to rules and laws. 53% anticipate irregularities similar to those during the last election four years ago. 7% are undecided.

Data base: 1004 representatively chosen Germans on Oct 22. Tolerance: +/- 3%. Commissioned by: stern. Source: Forsa.

4.  thanks
Do you really thing foreigners are being more important than the crucial sand turtle vote?

The POTUS, like it or not, is the leader of the free world. These polls are without major consequence for the election, but give indications about the mood for/against future cooperation. Also, there is the slight chance of relatives being influenced etc. .

If you want useless, then consider this: the Bild tabloid newspaper has endorsed Bush.

9. That's exactly how the US acts nowadays...

Of course nobody else can influence the vote in the US and of course it's YOUR vote but the world still has an opinion about it and to totally dismiss and ignore others opinions exactly fits that prejudice that most of the world has towards the use:

"They don't care for anybody except themselves and are totally ignorant whats going on in other parts of the world"

So please, at least TRY to proof this prejudice wrong by writing a more sensible comment, ok?

5. It's important to see it spelled out that Bush isn't popular elsewhere
in light of the fact Bush and Cheney mocked John Kerry's statement weeks ago that leaders in other countries favored his winning the election, and Bush's desperately needed and wanted retreat from Washington.

Bush and his nasty friend implied that John Kerry was a blatant liar, or he'd simply reveal who these people are publically, in other words, betray confidences. As if a person of quality would do that. That's more their speed.
