LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - An Air National Guard F-16 fighter jet accidentally struck the Intermediate School with 25 rounds from an M61-A1 Vulcan cannon while on a training mission Wednesday night. The shots tore through the school's ceiling and struck several classrooms.

A commander in the New Jersey National Guard says a fighter jet that accidentally fired on an elementary school actually meant to hit a target more than three miles away.

Colonel Brian Webster says he doesn't know what happened that led to the school getting shot up.

The F-16 fighter jet strafed the school in Little Egg Harbor with 25 rounds of rapid-fire ammunition late Wednesday night.

A few weeks ago, another jet dropped a bomb (live?) on the Appalachian Trail, near Harrisburg, PA. It was a mile off "target"

This raises my confidence level in the Armed Forces. Yep, it does.
