FBI investigating thefts of 100 propane tanks in Denver area

Monday, November 8, 2004

(11-08) 12:24 PST DENVER (AP) --

The FBI is investigating the reported thefts of scores of propane cylinders in the Denver area -- a crime spree that has raised fears of a terrorist attack.

About 100 cylinders, each containing about 7.8 gallons of the highly flammable gas and weighing about 33 pounds, have been stolen from various businesses since July, FBI agent Monique Kelso said Monday.

The investigation was first reported by KMGH-TV in Denver.

"The potential threat is that these propane tanks get into the wrong hands ... and get into the hands of those that are willing to commit a crime on the magnitude of the Oklahoma City bombing or another terrorist attack," Kelso told the station.

Sneak up to the local Gas n' Gulp after they close, bust the cheesy lock that might not have even been latched all the way on the "Blue Rhino" corral, VOILA! Free HEAT!

Yeah, it's "Terrorist Related" all right, the "terror" is that there are people in this "Great Nation" who aren't going to be able to even keep fucking WARM this winter.

But then, it's their own fault for being "lazy", isn't it? That's what the fuckers always told me during the reign of Ronaldus Rex...

4. common sense check please
how about winter is coming or is so near your breath probably frosts over and the price of propane has skyrocketed.

Bet the black market is booming for those little space heaters that run on a small canister of propane.

:eyes:

Oh, excuse me, I forgot there are terrasts everywhere! EEEEEKKKK! I'm skeered! :scared:

25. Only problem is these people will kill themselves if they use it indoors
Using one of those things in the house would likely result in carbon monoxide poisoning.

9. Perhaps the 'terrorists' are having a barbecue?
I know it's November, but BBQ's are always in season. Hell, I did steaks on the grill the day before Christmas a few years ago.

17. Eureka! I know how to find all the lost weapons and explosives

Put a GPS unit on some propane tanks. They'll probably end up in the hands of the same organization who stole the 400 tons of high density explosives and all those surface-to-air missiles in Iraq.

US. It was threatened about 3 years ago by some anti-government militia people, they're in jail now but i happen to know that homeland security or the owners of said facility have proved no increased protection.

On Edit: I forgot, a new mall will be built 1 1/2 miles away from that place in the next 3 years.
