Blasts heard in central Baghdad, cause unclear

BAGHDAD, Nov 10 (Reuters) - A series of explosions echoed over central Baghdad on Wednesday, witnesses said.

A U.S. military spokeswoman said she had heard the blasts at about 7 a.m. (0400 GMT), but had no immediate information on what had caused them, or on any casualties.

A single explosion, which sounded like a mortar bomb, rang out in the Iraqi capital about 20 minutes earlier.
