Fallujah Wounded Arriving by the Dozens at US Military Hospital in Germany
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBHSS2TE1E.html

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - A steady stream of wounded from Iraq, mostly from fighting in Fallujah, has begun arriving at the U.S. military's main hospital in Europe, an official said Thursday.
Two planeloads with around 90 wounded who could not be treated in Iraq were expected later Thursday at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, said spokeswoman Marie Shaw.

"We are very busy," Shaw said. "We have seen an increase of patient arrival since the outbreak of the Fallujah conflict."

She said 38 injured soldiers arrived on Monday, 23 more on Tuesday, and 64 on Wednesday.

Put this futile, bloody, pointless assault off until after the CIC was "elected?"

11. from the article... 90x2+125= 305
Two planes, each carrying around 90 bloodied and broken troops, were expected Thursday at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. They join 125 soldiers already at the hospital for treatment of wounds, most of them suffered in the assault.

13. The Yahoo Story Added The Word" Each "
The first story you posted said "Two planeloads with around 90 wounded who could not be treated in Iraq were expected later Thursday at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, said spokeswoman Marie Shaw."

That I assumed meant 45 each plane. They were trying to minimize the wounded. Fuck them to hell. Shit 305 wounded badly in what a couple of days?

34. Benjamin Enlisted In The Marines
He is at MCRD (Marine Corps Recruiting Depot) in San Diego. He is slated to go to Camp Pendelton after boot. He thought Kerry would win the election when he enlisted in August. He is very concerned now and thinks he will be assigned to Infantry.

My heart is broken beyond repair.

27. Sounds about right.
Around 20 confirmed dead. The wounded to dead rate for this war has been just over 10:1. No surprises here. The big question is how long can it go on without a draft?

The lying is a necessary intelligence procedure (don't give the enemy anything to be happy about).

This means the death toll could be much higher than 18 too.

45. Death toll
Keep in mind that this government doesn't count as "killed" the wounded who die en route. The number of dead reported is only the deaths that occurred IN Iraq.

Ever wonder how many died en route? I sure do.

And, I got this from a physician friend who's a civilian employee at Bethesda Medical Center - the wounds that they're seeing are so horrendous, people would have died of them even ten years ago. Our modern medical techniques are keeping people alive, but, as she pointed out, "I'm not sure what will happen to these people."

... who are sent to Landstuhl. The others, presumably, are treated in Iraq or Kuwait.

Last month, I think that there were something like 3 or 4 non-RTD* wounded for each death (using the figures from icasualties). Figuring from the number of wounded at or currently en route to Landstuhl would give roughly between 50 and 70 KIA so far. But that can't be right, surely!

* the numbers of troops wounded in Iraq are divided into Wounded and Returned to Duty (RTD), and Wounded (and not returned to duty)

7. When I was in college (1976-79)
A ROTC member told me it was better to wound soldiers of the other army. Killing one would eliminate only one person. Wounding one person would tie up five or more people to take care of the one wounded.

....."the wounded who have come so far from Fallujah are U.S. soldiers, although U.S. forces are fighting alongside Iraqi forces in Fallujah."

What were the Iraqi losses that fought alongside the U.S. troops? And where were the Iraqi maimed taken?

25. Cables silent, pushing Scott P

On Veteran's day this is so sad.

The Bushco went to visit the soldiers in DC.
We saw them coming out of the hospital but not with the wounded.

Does anyone have a picture of Bush with someone injured?

Depending on the problem, many injuries are worst than death.
There families are changed forever!

Bush has blood all over his body, not just his hands.

He falls off a couch with a pretzel and he can send our children to war!

I remember listening to the fall of Saigon on the radio and stories of the wounded going through Germany. I thought the fighting was in Germany and was terrified we were going to be bombed any minute. My heart goes out to the children today who don't understand what is happening.

Or any other international Broadcasters.

The BBC was in direct contact with one of their Iraqi journalist inside of Falluja and they were saying that the statement of being in control of 70 perent of Falluja semed to be totally incorrec, as this guy was walking outside at night looking around for any sign of U.S. presence and saew nothing. Lost of bodies, of insurgens, but in a small area he counted the bodies of at least 6 Americans who had not been picked up by their own units but left behind. Weare likely to not be told how many Americans have dies in FAllujah unless someone coordinates the numbers among families who have experienced deaths.

One interesting note: try accessing the United Nations Radio website.
It seems to be blocked in the U.S.
