The MSM Does It Again: No Credit to Indie Journalists
I am going to rant darn it and I need to:

Okay, now I am livid. I spent a month investigating the Clermont story, vetting it, working with witnesses, and all of the other crap that goes into writing a story where people are too frightened to speak. I paid for my own research.

I even helped organize the avadavat and worked on follow up with regard to the FBI investigating this story.

Prior to the Clermont story I had emailed the writer of the below cited paper who broke the Warren county lockdown story. I asked if I could reuse the information, or use aspects of the story to do my own work in collaboration with them. The writer told me that the editor does not like to work in collaboration and would not permit reprints. Apparently, they have no problem working alone, as they have made very apparent in their new article.

The following article now appears, using one of my sources (which I found, vetted, quoted, and had signed an avadavat) with not a single mention of where they got this story from. Where they got this source from. Nothing. Now these people get paid. These people have free access to research databases like Lex/Nex. I have to pay for my own searches. Is this fair?

To make things worse, the article does not accurately quote from the public record as to the reasons given for the use of the stickers. One more item of note, according to witnesses in my original story, this publication was present during the 12/16 meeting where the reason was given for the stickers being used. The reason given and the reason stated in this article do not match. Furthermore, why did they not write the story I worked so hard to write since they were present during at least one meeting? This is unethical and it is happening far too often to independent/progressive press. I wrote the author of this article a letter asking for him to source, as he should, but I doubt that he will.

I am sick of the AP who has done this to me over and over, on one occasion telling me that they could not source me because I was not a member of the AP. I am sick of this entire scam of reporting where the hard work of others is simply unimportant. I think they should pay for a Lex/Nex account for me in compensation, the whole lot of them. I would be happy with just that.

Sorry for the rant, but honestly, I have had it.
Here is the article:

FBI checking Clermont voting
Congressman claims tampering

By Reid Forgrave
Enquirer staff writer

BATAVIA - The Federal Bureau of Investigation is interviewing members of the Clermont County Board of Elections because of a Democratic Congressman's claim of vote-tampering during the presidential election.

The allegations stem from white oval-shaped stickers, about the size of an M&M, placed on fewer than 100 ballots.

Poll workers used them on Election Day to correct mistaken votes and determine intent on the optical scan ballots. Some voters, for example, marked their vote, but also etched a small mark in the space for another candidate, which threw off the machines.

Michael Brooks, a spokesman with the FBI's office in Cincinnati, confirmed Tuesday that the agency is conducting preliminary interviews with Clermont elections officials. The bureau hasn't yet decided to open a formal investigation....

1. Sorry to hear about this, lala.
Are these seasoned reporters, or new guys? Are these the tactics that are taught in journalism schools these days?

I'm pretty far removed from your field, so realize that I'm pretty ignorant as to how these things work. It's never acceptable in any line of work to take responsibility for the work of others.

3. ThankYou for all the work you did on this story!! We need more
investigative journalism happening in this country. I am so sorry that you are not getting the credit you deserve.

I do understand this predicament as I used to be an analyst ~ I provided factual data-driven business type information to my management some of it hard-hitting & surprising,,, yes, I got paid to do my job but never got real credit for what I did ~ and often watched others take the credit for their 'innovative ideas',,,, *sigh* I know it's not exactly the same, but,,,,,,

Please keep at it!! Don't lose hope. You are doing a huge service to those of us who want the truth.

4. It is not really about credit...
It is about the time and the money that I don't have. I skipped out on credit card payments to pay for this research. It just not ethical. We all have to eat and pay our bills.

Thank you for your kind words. I have been screaming like a lunatic for the last hour about this, lmao. I don't want compensation from them. I don't want anything but either access to the research resources that they deny me because I am not a "member;" or to source my work so that perhaps someone who is in a position to help out, will notice it. Beyond that, what really gets me is that the story is not accurate in some regards.

Anyway, thank you so much. I am starting a progressive version of the Associated Press (no known as the Associated Farce). I have been working on this for a little while and it might get some funding. Keep your fingers crossed. It is called the Open Source Press Association (OSPA) and will function in a variety of ways. I will keep you posted once things develop. Indie press is the only fourth estate. This blackout of truth, propaganda reporting, and violation of all ethical reporting stops now. Even if I have to do it alone, it stops now!!! Sorry, still really angry. Going to nap and cool down. I will be much more rational later on, I hope:D

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words. They mean so much:D

5. Yes the press is notoriously competative on getting the scoup.
Yes the press is notoriously competative on getting the scoup. Don't call them next time - and give them your story.
