Cong. Buyer {r} says Vets use inflammatory rhetoric to save their benefits
and thinks Vets may have to pay for VA care...

Buyer has been bought..

"While some veterans' organizations like to create a theme, that 'a veteran is a veteran, (and) there is no difference,' I disagree," he said.

He wouldn't want to assure current veterans with disability ratings that they would be excluded from commission recommendations. "I think everything should be on the table," he said."

P.S. How does bushfraud get these mouths to float their trial balloons..

Veterans Beware of this budget cutter..

2. Typical Indiana REPUG:
I am from Indiana and know him somewhat. He is a reservist in the legal field in the Army I think he grand standing one time about volunteering to go to Iraq but then was told he couldn't go due to security reasons.

I am a veteran and detest freaks like him.

4. He can't go to Iraq for 'security reasons'...
In 1942, Congressman Lyndon Johnson of Texas could and did go to the Pacific theater, where he saw combat against the Japanese and won a Navy Cross... and he wasn't the only congressman to go.

THANX to all our loyal Vets and forget these wanna be's who NEVER saw the tragedy of combat and who don't have to suffer from some chemical exposure or PTSD or whatever..

bush and the repukes are the biggest DISGRACE to this USA and to all Veterans in history..

BK jr""bush is most immoral and corrupt pRes in history"

3. Veterans are tools
and many are fools buying into false patriotism despite the damage it does to fellow vets.

5. I object to being called a 'tool'.
but I agree with the rest of your statement.

I also know where you are coming from, so...

"Many Veterans are tools, and more are fools..." fits my feelings.

7. Oh, I see.
We are being USED as Tools against American Ideals.

We are not Tools as in the California slang for 'prick'.

Comprehension diffuculty. That's what I thought, but I didn't realize it was me.

8. Serious.
I am 100 percent disabled veteran. I cannot begin to tell you how much I am resented by other veterans. We are used one against the other.

Used as in like a wrench (A tool).

11. these pols are expert at playing all groups against each other
and Veterans who should know better often end up not being united..

I belong to DAV ,VVA ,VFW ,101st Airborne Division Association and Vets who are jealous of anothers injuries have a huge problem with reality..

Face it who wants to end up disabled and with a social stigma....

let all the pols and their kids fight in all their wars and PEACE would soon happen

I heard from well placed source that 07 VA budget will have huge cuts

9. I have an idea
why don't we replace all the republican senators and congressman with republican soldiers who are currently on active duty in Iraq
and then send all the former repugs to Iraq for a 1 year (extendable indefintely if necessary) tour of duty, then we would really see who was truly deserving of benefits.

15. As a Korean War vet
it is next to impossible to understand how a veteran
could ever vote for someone who would drink the kool-aid
being passed out by this administration.
But around here most of the so-called veterans organizations
are nothing more than an extension of the Republican party.
That is why I have never nor will I ever join one of their
organizations. I am thankful for the GI Bill and VA home
loan benefits. There is little evidence, however, that any
of those organizations had anything to do with their
enactment.
