PADUCAH, Ky. - Two soldiers and another man were indicted Tuesday for allegedly smuggling machine guns out of Iraq and trying to sell them in the United States.

Army Sgt. Nigel Brown, 31; Sgt. Beau Uran, 24; and Guy Brown, 46, were indicted on federal charges of conspiring to unlawfully import machine guns and aiding and abetting the possession of a machine gun, the U.S. attorney's office said.

If convicted, they could face up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and supervised release for up to three years. The men are scheduled to be arraigned in May.

1. Hello! AG Gonzalez, I believe george bush* has saddams personal
sidearm in his office, can you please indict him NOW! If these guys gotta face the brig, I'm sure chimpy* wouldn't want the law bent for him, would he?

And yes, I realize chimpy* may have not done the smuggling of the weapon, but he knowingly accepted possession of it, he* even made it a photo-op session! So he's* just as guilty, sorry.

2. Sorry importing a semi auto pistol in to the US is legal
If memory serves me right Saddam carried a browning hi-power. This hand gun is legal to import. I could go and buy one now. And as for keeping it as a trophy, I do not know the current military regs are but for years you could keep pistols as war trophies. I have a luger that belonged to my Great Grandfather.

However importing machine guns illegally has been a federal felony since forever.

4. I did not say it was right, I said it was legal.
Those two are often quite different in this world.
