By late last week, West had sent an e-mail to members of a race relations task force insisting he was the victim of a "brutal outing."

Does he really not get it? Or is West, true to his history, doing his best to be a master of obfuscation?

As a politician, he has vehemently denied rights to gay people. Now - only now - that the focus is on abusing the privilege of elected office does he complain of persecution as a gay man. "Do others who desire to be out but are having similar struggles now live in greater fear because of a brutal outing?" West said.

2. It's about hypocrisy and child abuse

This sick puppie was, as a fifty-something man, bashing gays as an elected official by day and crusing the internet for teenage boys by night. Yet another example of astonishing hypocrisy from the party of "family values."
