Lord help us all if a vote for Dems is a ticket to hell |
|
link: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/editorial/outlook/3184561snip: As a young Baptist trapped in a pew for several hours every Sunday, I spent a lot of time reading the Bible. The dog-eared pages in my brown leather, gold-embossed copy were the historical books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles; the Gospels were also favorites. To be perfectly honest, I usually sped through Leviticus and may have skipped directly from Nahum to Zephaniah, so it's possible that my scriptural education was not quite comprehensive. Even so, I'm fairly certain that there is no verse that reads, "Thou shalt not vote Democratic."snip: The New Republican Standard Version of the Bible has been gaining popularity among evangelicals and Catholics. Just a few weeks ago, conservative political and religious leaders lined up on their so-called "Justice Sunday" to charge that people who oppose the ideologically extreme judicial nominees whom they support cannot be true people of faith.snip: The charge used to be that Democrats were godless, a party of secularists run amok. That changed somewhere around the time when Barack Obama boomed, "We worship an awesome God in the blue states!"; progressive minister Jim Wallis became one of the best-selling authors in the country; and Americans began to reconnect with their history, including centuries of religiously motivated political causes such as abolition, women's suffrage and the civil rights movement.snip: One of the most powerful traits of the church I grew up in was that people of all ages, class backgrounds and political leanings gathered under one roof to worship together. President Bush no doubt understands the value of this as well; when he does attend church, it is usually at St. John's Episcopal, a congregation so liberal it would make the organizers of Justice Sunday cringe. But when he refuses to speak out or distance himself from political allies who declare that the one true faith requires fealty to the Republican Party, Bush gives tacit encouragement to those who would play God.

2. generation of deceivers! |

first of all i am a liberal rev and proud of it this so called Christan moralistic administration that runs this country is a farce the republican party will make you all believe that all liberals are UN-Godly and don't believe in God that is as far from the truth as they can get! I have been a pastor for 12 years and a loyal liberal at that i have morals but at the same time i believe that it dose not give me the right to dictate to other's on rite or wrong.there is a difference in preaching God's word for guidance but not to dictate with it! the bible i read says we are responsible for our own walk with God! If you do something wrong you are held accountable for it not me ! it will be you that is judged in-the day of judgment not me! in the same token it is not up to me to judge you nore you me if you are going to follow the bible then you cant straddle the fence!call it as you will but as far as the republican party is concern you cant and should not play God! there is only room for one and i guarantee he's not very happy!and for those who think I'm mean my mama always said it's not mean if it's true!

4. I've always voted the Dem ticket and never went to Hell |
|
Hell is having Bush as president. He can't get anything right. He never finishes anything he starts, and he loves to dismantle the very things that are working so well. If Bush was sent here by God as he likes to make people believe, then that's not the God I worship.
