Nick Coleman does a good job Star/Trib
And some things just stay the same...

From MPLS http://www.startribune.com/stories/357/5425971.html

"Roger and Luella McInerny went to the cemetery at Fort Snelling on Thursday for an early Memorial Day get-together with family members: Parents, in-laws and their first-born child:
Roger Jr. Forever 19.

"I wonder what kind of a man he would be," says Luella. "Paul, his brother (a police officer in California), is just a year younger than Rog. So I look at Paul and I wonder if Rog would have looked like him. I always wonder. It's just always there."

Roger Jr. enlisted in the Army a year after graduating from Benilde High School.
He was a college student who enlisted after a professor chided students about getting draft deferments while poor kids went to Vietnam. The big brother in a rollicking Irish Catholic family of six children from Richfield became a private in the 1st Air Cavalry.

In March 1970, when he got his orders for Vietnam, the whole family escorted him to the airport....."

in Minnesota, for those who don't know him.
(Am I the only Minnesota AAR fan who finds Wendy Wilde annoying? Why does she get 6 hours of play, repeating her morning show in the afternoon instead of Randi Rhodes which is given a 3 AM time slot when no one will listen. The other day when she started her idiotic "there is no racism in Minnesota because my son was beat up by a "person of color" in school" ranting, I turned her off.)
