'Dominionism is an evil child'
Robert Weitzel: 'Dominionism is an evil child'

By Robert Weitzel

Not since the days that I had my little fanny parked under a desk during one of Sister Gerard's duck-and-cover drills has there been so much talk of a "nuclear option." That was in the heat of the Cold War when Catholic school children were trained to accept martyrdom as an alternative to surrendering their faith to the Godless totalitarianism of Communism.

The collapse of Soviet-style Communism in 1991 ended all thought of martyrdom. Ironically, however, there is another "cold war" heating up in America. Radical fundamentalists who need a government and neoconservative politicians who need a religion are colluding to unleash a totalitarianism that is as "God-filled" as Communism is otherwise. This hybrid child of Osama bin Laden and Joseph Stalin is known as Dominionism.

snip-

With the expected retirement of Chief Justice William Rehnquist, Bush has been assured his pick of the judicial litter by Democrats who promised not to filibuster his nominees except under "extraordinary circumstances." Bush has made his requirement for the seat clear: "We need common sense judges who understand that our rights are derived from God." No one meets this requirement better than sitting Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

While Justice Scalia is not a tithing member of Kennedy's Coral Ridge mega-church, there is little doubt he sympathizes with the Dominionist worldview. In his 2002 essay, "God's Justice and Ours," Scalia wrote that St. Paul's core message in Romans 13 is that "government . . . derives its moral authority from God."

1. And these assholes want a culture war~with us.
I wish they'd just kill themselves every one of them

I hate these dominionist pigs.
And if they do call out the army of gawd cult brown shirts on us,and ..moon funds this shit, and they start killing off gays, pagans liberals disabled people...It's high time we admit the bullies have no conscience and it's time they got their smack down. I hope people do not stand by and let their fellows be abused if this Armageddon these freaks froth for heats up. Do not believe anything they say. They are faith ridden unreasonable monsters in human suits,a corrupted soulless hive mind a bible based sickness that could if not stopped or contained kill us all with their virulent unreason and self deception.

2. Founders did have a self-protection
Clause in the Constitution so citizens can protect themselves. 2ns Admendment. Until that is removed, it'll never really work. Remove it and they lose their voting base fast.

3. The important thing is to inform people of dominionism
and that it's not just on the fringe anymore.

4. I see the effects of "dominionism" on my friends now
Like most of us, I have friends from many backgrounds. Quite a few are - or were - "reasonable" Christian folks with a very "live and let live" attitude. I can assure you that is changing and I hear "dominionist" rhetoric coming out of their mouths now which is divisive and shocking. There must be a type of programming going on in the churches. These people aren't stupid, nor are they intentionally cruel, or I wouldn't have them as friends. But I see they have been indoctrinated one little step at a time. It's hard to argue with them because it so deeply entrenched, almost to the point of mind control. I still argue with them, but I have to "prove" and qualify every inch of the way. It's exhausting, and I fear it is too late anyway. How many of them are there now? How many in our government? And how long until the family camps that Michelle Malkin and her evil tribe are clamoring for? When Patriot Act II passes - not if - the Bushistas and their henchmen will have the right to declare American citizens as "enemy combatants." We'll likely have a Supreme Court full of dominionists and/or Opus Dei - we currently have Scalia, OD, and Clarence Thomas, Dom - to uphold any outrage they suggest. We already know that our current regime favors secret tribunals for the "swift justice" they provide. After that, the lucky ones go to "camp." The rest to the gurney - or worse - to be dispatched no doubt on a weekly special edition of the 700 Club. The zombies will "amen" furiously as Pat Robertson leads them in a prayer for eternal damnation of the accused.

Gosh, I love religion.

5. Lately I've notice that mainline churches are turning on them.

I've been feeling brighter sine I've seen this happen.

6. That's what I find so alarming, too ... that they've managed to
dovetail the religious rhetoric with the conservative rhetoric, and convince their followers that their worldview is the only correct one. It's hard to get people to see the other side once they've crossed over into the dominionist worldview. They see any attempt at argument as another secular attack upon all that is holy.

7. Forwarded to everyone I know.
These people scare me to death -- they want no other views permitted but their own.

George Orwell and Margaret Atwood warned us well and we'd better heed.

We have to make "dominionist" a well-known and loathed household word, as greatly feared as any imminent threat to freedom ever was.

10. Yeah, isn't it?
Not sure where I got that pic, but I saved it when I saw it. It speaks volumes!
