He answers in the affirmative.

It seems like it was only this week, because it was only this week, that Victor Davis Hanson was vibrating his heroic tonsils to proclaim that the battle had been joined in Iraq between civilization and barbarism, democracy and tyranny, and America's boots were cemented to the task. Liberals may whimper, but those who know how transformational victory will be shall not waver or wobble.

"For the first time, Afghans and Iraqis have a stake in their own future — and know the United States is at last on the right side of history and intends to stay and win by their side.

"So we press on."

No, says Buchanan, hearing the bustle of mice scurrying at the Pentagon, we're moonwalking to the exits.

These morons (and there is no other word for it) plan to send these exhausted, psychologically battered, materiel-depleted troops to Iran or Syria, or wherever their perverted little fantasies dictate, to repeat the process of destruction in yet a third country.
