IRAN -- BUSH ADMINISTRATION REVISES ESTIMATE OF IRAN'S NUCLEAR THREAT:

IRAN -- BUSH ADMINISTRATION REVISES ESTIMATE OF IRAN'S NUCLEAR THREAT: In sharp contrast to what the White House has been saying about Iran, a new National Intelligence Estimate, which represents the consensus among U.S. agencies, has found that Iran is ten years away from producing a nuclear weapon. It also casts doubt on the credibility of U.S. intelligence itself: since 1995, intelligence officials have been claiming that Iran is within five years of building a nuclear weapon.

1. Hmm, does that mean Syria has moved up on the "next place we
need to bomb" list?

3. Substitute Iraq for Iran, and this could be the 2002 NIE.
Does the White House REALLY think they're going to do it to us all again?

6. This Is To Justify Delaying Any Iran Action Until Politically Beneficial
That is, prior to the 06 elections.

I look for a ramp up in rhetoric next summer, some kind of vote in Sept. 06, with some action taken in 07. Continuation of this PatrioticTM action will carry over into the 08 elections.

Depending on the seriousness of the crises, the election could be suspended. We can't have dissension during wartime, you know.
