Study: Wrong impressions helped support Iraq war
WASHINGTON - A majority of Americans have held at least one of three mistaken impressions about the U.S.-led war in Iraq, according to a new study released Thursday, and those misperceptions contributed to much of the popular support for the war.

The three common mistaken impressions are that:

U.S. forces found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

There's clear evidence that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein worked closely with the Sept. 11 terrorists.

People in foreign countries generally either backed the U.S.-led war or were evenly split between supporting and opposing it.<snip>

They "still" believe because they don't want to acknowledge how stupid they were in the first place to swallow the Bush crap. There are Republicans who now say they were wrong and no longer support Bush and his policies. However, there are still lots of people who can't bring themselves to admit they are wrong about anything even in the face of hard facts.

8. Mental Illness Epidemic in America
Edited on Fri Oct-03-03 05:30 PM by TorchesAndPitchforks
I demand to know why the Surgeon General and the Media are not addressing this mental health epidemic. Cognitive Dissonance effects more than 50% of Americans according to these polls. Maybe we should sponsor public service ads telling people how to spot the signs and get help. We can start by running them on Fox News!

5. I especially liked the fact . . .
That the majority of those that believed WMDs had been found and that Saddam was involved in 9/11 were Fox viewers.

Hehehehe shows a bit of the accuracy of Fox eh?
