"Dead soldier's mom aids foe with protest " says the Atlanta J-C
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 08:42 AM by sinkingfeeling
This is a guest column written by Jimmy W. Hall. There is no information of who this guy really is other than he lives in Douglasville.

<snip> Cindy Sheehan evidently thinks little of her deceased son, his sacrifice or of those left to do the noble work in his absence. How could she? Is the proper answer to her bitterness really to belittle and undermine public support for the efforts of those still serving?

The insurgents were Casey's enemy. The president of the United States is his mother's. What is wrong with this picture? Would he be proud of her near-treasonous actions? Hardly.

This woman is a representative example of typical, illogical anti-war activists. She thinks Bush, not the terrorists, killed her son. She supports those who killed Casey by wanting to pull out and let them kill more innocent people, unhindered. The lady is on the wrong team. She's disgraceful. <snip>

This is a column, not a LTTE!! Think some of us should ask the AJ-C for an opportunity to be a guest columnist!

1. disgusting
I will never understand how they get treasonous out of Cindy's actions. What if we all wrote a letter to AJC, if they got enough would they print something from our side in response to his article?

Just a thought

2. This is also in the paper, not sure about print edition
THE WAR IN IRAQ: Mother begs for end to killing
Atlantan: 'It's too late for my son'
Anna Varela - Staff
Friday, August 12, 2005

Mary Ann MacCombie didn't protest Vietnam. She was in her early 20s and wasn't sure she understood that war well enough to take a stand.

And she didn't know anybody who died there.

When the United States invaded Iraq in March 2003, she was "cautiously supportive." And when her son's Army unit joined the fight, she thought it would be like the Gulf War in 1991 --- few casualties, "in and out."

In April 2004, MacCombie's son was killed in Iraq. Suddenly the war became personal.

3. No way to enter a LTTE without being a member. Bugmenot didn't work
I sent a "complaint" through customer service instead.

Cannot recreate message, but basically said Mr. Hall needs to plant blame for the insurgency where it belongs: at the feet of the CiC, not a sunburned mother in a ditch in TX.

4. If it's a guest column, "says the Atlanta J-C" is misleading
Their editorials do not say that. Papers print opinions which are contrary to their "official" ones.
