R REEVES : 2008: CHENEY VS. HILLARY

His belief that he does not have to explain anything will certainly restrict his social circle. If the war he wanted continues to go the way it seems to be going, he may be reduced to long conversations with the vice president, the secretary of defense and the secretary of state. They may be the only Americans who will not ask him to explain how he could have been so foolish. No wonder he wants to spend his time on a bicycle.

He is not going to listen, so there is not much to be gained by talking to him. In the end, it could be just him and Cheney. Which brings me to this point: I think that, God and his health willing, Dick Cheney may well be the Republican nominee to succeed Bush, which would make him the oldest man ever elected. Who else is going to defend what is going on? Dynasty or no dynasty, I'll bet even Jeb Bush does not want to do that, to say nothing of John McCain, who seems to be Hillary Clinton's new best friend.

1. If Cheney ended up getting the nomination,
I think I would fall to my knees and thank whatever power was responsible for such a blessing.

2. Quite possibly the only opponent Hillary COULD beat.
That would be an interesting race.

3. McCain versus HIllary
I still think it is going to be McCain even though the Neocons and especially the Fundies don't like McCain. He is the only person the Reps could nominate, outside of Rudy, who will be able to capture the so called "moderate" vote. An extremest will never win given the sentiment in this country right now.
