Ex-Marine Says Public Version of Saddam Capture Fiction
<snip>A former U.S. Marine who participated in capturing ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said the public version of his capture was fabricated.

Ex-Sgt. Nadim Abou Rabeh, of Lebanese descent, was quoted in the Saudi daily al-Medina Wednesday as saying Saddam was actually captured Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, and not the day after, as announced by the U.S. Army.<snip>

1. Anyone else think this is HUGE news?
Why hasn't CNN or the major news media reported this? This should be a forefront story!

2. holy cow, I'm completely shocked
I was expecting him to have been captured far from the stated location, at a date far, far earlier than the publicized date.

I'm really amazed that that's all the fabrication they did.

4. I remember when he was captured it was reported he was already being
held, and was turned over. Not a big surprise no one paid attention to that piece of the story. They were too busy chanting in their brainwashed state USA...USA.

5. They couldn't find the guy again
This is very old, and caused a big stir at the time. The story just popped up, quoting a report in a Saudi paper, and when other media tried to go find the guy and confirm it, they couldn't find a former marine by that name. Only that mention in a Saudi paper but nobody else could find him. Dead end.

6. it wasn't Marines who captured him
it was an Army unit. Marines were not even deployed there at the time.
