My letter to a columnist asking Bush to listen to Sheehan
Saw this in my sent email, thought it pretty pithy:

Thanks for giving Bush the good advice, although you and I both know that it won't be accepted. Our president considers listening and considering to be symptomatic of a lack of resolve. He thinks that leadership means making people do what he wants, regardless.

In fact, I believe he considers the low levels of popular support for his war to be a badge of honor and proof of his moral superiority, rather than a looming national disaster.

In sum, I think Bush's belief that the only action is for him to listen less, and care less, to the people paying the price for his war, and to let the chips fall on them as they may.
