Bush Proposes Moving Nation's Capital to Idaho
BUSH PROPOSES MOVING NATION’S CAPITAL TO IDAHO

http://www.borowitzreport.com/default.asp

Move Could Mean Trillions To The Gem State, Business Leaders Say Idaho, the state which currently gives President George W. Bush his highest approval rating in the nation, could soon be getting something in return as the president today proposed moving the nation’s capital to Idaho for the remainder of his second term.

Mr. Bush used a speech in Boise to float the idea of moving the nation’s center of government from Washington, D.C. to The Gem State.

“I’ll tell you this,” Mr. Bush told the cheering crowd. “I wouldn’t mind going back to Washington so much if Washington were in Idaho.”

While some in the audience at first thought Mr. Bush was suffering from a bout of geographic confusion, he soon made it clear that he was actually proposing moving the Federal government to Idaho, a decision that could mean trillions of dollars to the state, business leaders say.

1. Why'd Bush apply for a job in DC if he doesn't like it?
Things are tough all over W.

2. He probably says that about every state he's desperately trying to
drum up support in..

he's acting like he's running for president.. which is HILARIOUS!!

Note to AWOL Bush: resign before you're impeached.

3. Idaho will regret their dumbness someday
through imminent domain they will take that state and turn it into upscale spa's, gated communities and shopping for the rich and famous. They natives will not be able to afford to live their. It has already started.

or as Sy Hersch said in a speech "Permanent revolution" ~"Bush is a Trotskyite, he might not know what that means but Wolfowitz does"

6. This fits my idea quite well. I think this country needs to divorce

each other - amicably.

I would stay with the parent who keeps our Constitution and Bill of Rights and improves on it. The one we have now, but without the executive orders changing things since 2001. SInce that Constitution and Bill of Rights is already in Washington - it should stay there. The Right Wing can settle in Idaho, Montana, half of the Dakotas, Utah, and either half of Colorado or half of Oregon. Does that make about 35%? Because that is the hard core of the Right Wing and it probably includes the swallowers and followers who pledge their loyalty to the Right Wing and the Bush clan everyday on C-Span and The 700 Club and to Liddy and Hannity, etc.

They can declare their own imperialistic takeovers of countries from there. And they can easily get all those hot new young Republican enthusiasts to carry it out for them. Right Wing corporations can resettle there and do all their off-shore banking, outsourcing, and they can write their own legislation exactly as they need it to not pay taxes and not be required to live by any environmental laws.

Of course that may mean that they are still a threat to neighbors and the planet, but they don't care now and they are never going to care.

So, if they can't be convinced to move to the new emerging Greenland - I guess we'll have to put up with residual death of us and the earth = until their rapture.

7. The article is satire.
Read to the end:

<snip>

Elsewhere, a former Power Ranger accused of murder pleaded innocent today, claiming he was framed by a former Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

8. Idaho gives away potatoes!
When they have too many, they are free or at least used to be!

Dern communists. How can Bush put a stop to that?
