Katrina -- Bush's "perfect storm"? |
|
We'll see. Even more dispicable than finding ways to blame the storm on one party or another would be to use the natural disaster for political benefit afterward, but I don't put it past him/them. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3626796/

I mean, to think they wouldn't? Any way in which this can be used will be seen as...heaven sent. That's really what I think. They'll not only use it, they'll be proud of themselves for doing it. They might even say God gave them this storm, though they may or may not say it on camera. With Robertson, it's hard to tell.

2. Am I being closed-minded or is this the first hurricane ever to have such |
|
an impact on gas prices?
I can never remember experiencing a hurricane season with so much speculation devoted to oil/gas prices. Granted, there is a great deal of uncertainty in the market place - with the never-ending war in Iraq, problems in the Saudi kingdom, bush creating more and smarter terrorists, and a sluggish US economy - but I think there will be a huge push to develop new refineries after this season is over.
This just might be bush's perfect storm - giving land and free environmental passes to his oil industry buddies to protect America's security.

3. I don't think so - he's not smart enough or slick enough to |
|
pull it off. He'll try but it will not work out well - like all those town meeting on social Security. Really it's hard to reach out to the common man and look like you care when the public has to be screened before you meet them.

and Bush cut funding that would have helped New Orleans with the flooding, he should just settle for being grateful that Katrina literally blew Cindy Sheehan off the front pages!

7. Well, this must be where all the democratic bashing from Limpballs |
|
is coming from. He is stating that Dems are blaming Bush for this hurricane, etc.
I've been trying to call in to ask him who in the Hell would blame either party or even make this a political issue when it's nature causing havoc, it's just our turn right now.
Now I read this and I am confused. I may be misunderstanding your points, but if you are somehow blaming all this destruction on Bush, I'm at a loss for words. However, it's really giving Limpballs a whole show today. If not from here, he's getting it from somewhere.
I listen to that ass for media matters but I'm done. I cannot take that ass anymore. He is an evil, vicious, mean, smart ass, arrogant, lard headed idiot.
I can't take this crap anymore. :hide:

9. He can try to spin it, but only the faithful dupes will believe it all. |

The U.S. is living to close to the bone. The National Guard problem will be highlighted, as will the drain of other national resources by the war. He will have to borrow from Peter to pay Paul to provide disaster aid.
More and more people will see the Republican tax mantra provides for no one except the very rich individuals and families who are using political clout for personal gain.
Cindy and Katrina may be the ladies to turn this mess around.
edited to correct a blond moment.

10. This is actually a distraction |
|
He wanted to get back up on the Social Security horsie. You know how he is, one message at a time.
Of course, I've not a doubt that he will make every effort to spin this to his advantage. If he could blame Osama, he would, but he will probably write off gas increases on this event.
Funny thing is, when you think about what you were paying, per gallon, when Clinton left office, and what you were paying the day or even the week before that storm hit, his argument kinda fades a bit....
