Eighty-two percent want our troops out
Less than 1 percent of those polled believed that the forces were responsible for any improvement in security, according to poll figures.

Eighty-two percent of those polled said they were "strongly opposed" to the presence of the troops.

The number is 65% support of insurgents on the Daily Telegraph site (the source of the story).

The number on the ABC site is 45% support.

4. 65% in one province support attacks on US/UK troops
45% in the whole survey support attacks. 82% want US/UK troops out (but don't necessarily support attacks against them).

3. That's an amazing figure.
It tells me there is something seriously wrong with the polling that goes on in this country, or with the reporting that goes along with it. I don't doubt for a moment that this figure is true.

And if it is, that means there HARDLY ANY support for the war.

Obviously, there are enough people in this country who remember VietNam. That's good. We should be linking VietNam with Iraq, so we can get out quicker.

5. Wasn't there a headline in
lbn that "Levin says Iraqis want us to stay"? I saw it but I never got back to it.

This would directly oppose that.
