Aanother Encouraging Letter from the Heartland
This morning's Birmingham News has an amazing letter that truly shows how much trouble the malAdministration is in. The author is a lifelong Republican from Arab (pronounced A-Rab), which is located in northeast Alabama, one of the most conservative areas in the state.

Just a portion as a teaser: "The first years of the current Bush administration have been enough to convince me that the Republican Party has given itself over to extremists, most with strong connections to the most soulless corporations this world has ever seen.

I will not vote Republican again unless something is done to justify our trust in the party leadership and in the Republican members of Congress and the White House."

He then provides a laundry list of promises Bush* made and has broken; all in all, a very strong letter.

1. Reading thru all the letters
it does not look like a good Repug day in Alabama.

3. I don't think so
He sounded like he had been pissed on and told it was rain once too often. Besides, in Alabama there's not a whole lot of difference between Republican and Democrat on the local level. Next year, unless the the Bush* campaign sees the light (or the rapture comes, which is more likely) my feeling is that he would vote Dem or not at all, depending on who is running. They get pretty stubborn down here, and do NOT like being lied to.

4. Arab is about 30 miles away from me.
I avoid it at all costs. It is encouraging to see that letter, however. I work on a military base with active duty military personnel and they are not happy with Smirky McFlightsuit.
