We're All Americans ... Andy Rooney feedback on writing Bush speech

Last week, just for fun, I wrote a speech I said I'd like to have President Bush give.

I hoped it was both amusing and true, but a lot of people didn't think it was either.

There were angry letters and angry phone calls. Some of them were never going to watch 60 Minutes again.

“I’ll never watch 60 Minutes again,” said one caller. “I do a national radio show and I'm going to make sure everyone knows my opinion.”

We need moderates like Rooney to see vile hate coming from the Right. Perhaps more people will begin to reconsider their positions when wackos start boycotting centrist commentators like Mr. Rooney. The Left gets angry too, but it's not in supporting immoral and unjust wars...it's to promote peace and understanding through diplomacy. Our anger is directed at those that are willing to see this country's international reputation destroyed, just to provide cover for the fascist thugs that have hijacked our government.
