1. And today, he got the 2 plus million supporters that he needed |
|
prior to the Dem national convention.
All we have to do is convince the newcomers to donate $100 a piece and we can blow Bush/Rove machine out of the White House and back to Tumbleweed, TX.

3. I have seen Dean's potencial |
|
for this for months,
He will do for the dmeocrats, in many ways, what Reagan did for the Repukes (yuk even talking of reagan)
but it is true, is true...
And that is why Rove has severely miscalculated

8. Here's the law of candidate supporters.... |
|
If a republican says something nice about my candidate it is because he has a broad appeal and proof that he can win in '04. If a republican says something bad about my candidate it means they are afraid and is proof that he can win '04.

11. It was strange to read that from Reinhard, a local GOP shill |
|
He usually has nothing but contempt for anything left of Franco, but that editorial almost read like a sober analysis -- little digs at the end about "driving to distraction" aside.
However, I can't help but wonder if his remarks aren't part of a Rovian strategy to set up a weak general election candidate to win the Democratic primary. Has Karl Rove miscalculated, or does he have the magic bullet that will bring ruin to a Dean campaign? Somehow, something just seems contrived about republicans proclaiming the merits of Howard Dean prior to the nomination. It has that "don't throw me in the briar patch" ambience.
The pukes have an ace or three up their sleeves, or they wouldn't be letting Democrats (any of 'em) off the hook. It'd be nonstop scandal, scandal, scandal, if they were really afraid of losing in 2004.

I disagreed with a couple of the author's assumptions. I think passion is a good thing to have, but I'm not sure that anger will help Dean. And with the aforementioned national security issue. While I believe Dean has a good shot (especially with a good ticket) there are a enough holes in the columnist's arguments to make me question his motives.

13. I did a triple-take when I saw that headline |
|
with Reinhard attached. You guys are right, there's something smelly going on there (although I disagree that Dean would be a weak GE candidate, but that's another topic).
The anger is why I was attacted to Dean as a candidate. I hate George W. Bush almost as much as Mike Malloy does, and I hear that passion in Dean. I can't be alone in that.
