Executive branch is stronger since 9/11, Card says
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20031113-113909-2927r.htm

The White House chief of staff yesterday told a conservative legal group that President Bush strengthened the executive branch in the wake of September 11 in order to uphold his "sole responsibility" to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution.

<snip>

The executive branch, Mr. Card said, is primarily responsible for protecting the Constitution, and "it is the executive branch that is most under attack."

"Congress loves to attack the executive branch of the government ... Congress wants to eat away at what we call the presidency. And there are great dangers of immediate gratification as they choose to devour us," he said, likening those attacks to a "cancer."

2. Republicans like a Strong President
when they hold the Presidency!

Of course, when the Republicans DIDN't hold the Presidency, they worked 24/7 to weaken it...

4. This executive branch is responsible for shredding the Constitution.
Of course, the judicial branch is doing all it can, too.

If the executive branch is getting stronger, we are losing the balance of power set forth in the Constitution. I hope real conservatives can see this.

5. more
After the terrorist attacks that left more than 3,000 dead, Mr. Card said, the president "strained the limits of his executive authority to better protect this country."

More like, he strained the limits of his executive authority to COVER HIS ASS. We'll never see his presidential records (or Reagans, or his father's), the energy task force notes, the countless backroom deals, or the August 6 daily briefing where he was warned about the plot to attack the US.

9. He started the war to cover his corrupt ass
...they invent one crisis after another in order to hide their latest frauds and crimes against the people of the United States of America. The juggling act won't stop until they are out on their asses.

6. The executive branch is stronger since fall 2000
when it's parent company bought out the judicial branch, and it's much stronger since fall 2002 when they bought out the legislative branch too. It's called a monopoly.

7. To preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution: that's what the Patriot
Act was all about, that's what this Administration and particularly its Attorney General are all about, that's what they will go down in history for: preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution of the United States. What a joke, what a card: possibly among the most disingenuous words ever spoken by a sitting White House chief of staff.

8. This fraudulent and illegitimate executive
...branch is rotten to the core. Don't be deceived by claims of strength. Corruption equals weakness. It can't last and it certainly can't pretend to be Constitutional. It totally lacks that integrity.

The BFEE cronies work full time undermining the Constitution and the rule of law. They are little more than treasonous frauds, thieves and pirates.
