As Israeli warplanes ravage Beirut in retaliation for Lebanon-based Hezbollah raids, a prominent Beirut-based blogger decries being made a “pawn on the board of an imaginary game.” He is “infuriated that such risks and actions can be taken with absolute disregard of the lives that are at stake, the lives of the people that make a country what it is.”

1. It's especially tragic for Lebanon

which was once a beautiful country, was nearly destroyed by warfare among Israelis, Palestinian Arabs, and Syria. They've spent the last decade and a half trying to rebuild their country and now because some idiots couldn't let go of losing tactics, they're about to have it destroyed all over again.

To hell with terrorists and to hell with all fools around the world who think armies can be used to fight them.
