Home schooled kids hit campaign trail for GOP
For the final days leading up to Tuesday's primary, Tim Echols has his eye on a particular intersection outside the Mall of Georgia in Buford.

"Our kids will be there every day. We'll have 20 kids out there every rush hour, every afternoon," Echols said of the site near I-85. All decked out in the same bright T-shirts, all waving signs at commuters. His "kids" are a small army of 76 home schooled students from 10 states, ages 14 to 20, who assembled in Alpharetta this week to help Ralph Reed try to win the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor.

The youth corps is a small, but significant part of Reed's plan to push voters to the polls in what's expected to be a low-turnout race.

. . .

Even so, some GOP campaign managers swear by them — even to the point of preferring home schoolers to college students.

Their schedules are as flexible as their beliefs are firm. They're polite and disciplined, and don't blink at 12-hour days. Best of all, they come with parental supervision and minivans.

Goebbels knew that indoctrination must start at an early age. ChimpCo is starting right where Herr Goebbels left off.
