"Frank to Donate Over $250,000 in New Funds to Dem. Party & Candidates"
http://www.barneyfrank.net/node/145

"In light of the ongoing discussions regarding the importance of financial support from unopposed incumbent Democrats for fellow Democratic candidates, I thought I would give a brief update of my own efforts in this area. While I have throughout the current election cycle placed a high priority on providing financial assistance to the party – including, for example, contributing to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) an amount in excess of my $300,000 "dues" – I am now able to substantially increase my level of donations, and this month I am adding over $250,000 to my previous total of more than $1.1 million raised or contributed. . . . "

9. Good for him! That will loosen up some of the other million$ in
coffers, but it will also show that the Dems are serious enough to do whatever is necessary to clean house.

14. Tip O'Neil wanted him to succeed him as Speaker
but once it came out he was gay that ended that. He won't be Speaker in his lifetime which is sad for both him and the country.

19. Tip O'Neil told Barney that his decision to come
out of the closet would prevent him from becoming Speaker of the House. He had been right up there in the round of entries. That probably will never change. Like people who say they will vote and then not do it. Can't even trust the Democrats to do the right thing under certain circumstances. Barney will always do the right thing. I admire him and respect his judgment in all things.

3. Congressman Frank is a fighter in the trenches.
The red districts who disdain him the most don't admit or realize how much their quality of lives would improve if their red Republican voted the way Frank votes in the Congress.

I'll take a U.S. House of Congressman Franks any time.

12. That's my congressman!
After several years of being represented in Congress by that empty-headed Joe Kennedy, what a pleasure it is to know I'm in a district represented by a mensch!
