Slowly, yet surely.
They are creating businesses and systems that function outside of the normal checks and balances that restrict abuses and provide for addressing grievances. This ranges from laws that protect corporations through taking actions and not processing them through existing legal channels (illegal wiretapping, election theft, etc.)
Privatization is one way they create systems of their own that function outside of regular checks and balances. There are several private organizations operating in Iraq, and they are outside the law. This may have been foreshadowed in the National Emergencies Bush declared into law regarding Iraqi oil.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050519-8.htmlLook into the Texas housing lemon laws and note that the home builders association and their friends in the lawmaking process have removed responsibility from the builders in the event of creating a “lemon”. Where once one could take a builder to court, now one must accept arbitration provided by those they are trying to sue. Caveat: Research that for yourself, I’m working from memory and an incomplete understanding, but it certainly appears that those who screw up are placing themselves as judge and jury in deciding whether they screwed up or not.
http://www.hobb.org/hobbv1/lemon/index.shtmlThis is an exceedingly dangerous trend.
We must, with great focus and determination, seize and negate all laws and reverse all actions taken along these lines. Point by point by point. We are allowing them to slowly legalize total irresponsibility and it must be stopped at the core, at each actual instance, or it will reach a critical size and become self-sustaining and extremely difficult to respond to. Our response is far behind the curve of their actual actions and is thus far ineffective. We must unite in loudly demanding peaceful resolutions to the Iraq invasion just as we stared them down regarding the proposed theft of Social Security. The Texas homeowners have taken the sort of action that we must all take, for each aspect of the laws they pass: uniting as loudly as possible.
How nice if we could head off such anti-citizenry lawmaking as it happens instead.
